I have looked for it with no luck. Any other ideas? Sorry about that, pums. It apparently needs to be extracted also. Joined Nov 18, Messages 1. I think the driver that you posses might be corrupted, so try to get those iriver mp3 player from other sources as well. You can get it from various sites like "topshareware", "download", "brothersoft" and many more. I had faced same situation but i solved it later by downloading the from the internet. I am sure your issue will be solved easily.
If it is not solved then kindly let me know. I can help you in other way. Regards, Kristina Techsoft. Ratboy, i did what you said and everything went really well. I then clicked on install for ifpumd, as the other files did not have that option and would not let me open them anyway.
I click continue and my computer did something. Hi Krista, Thanks for your suggestions. I first was looking at different sites like you mentioned but was a bit concerned about them and thought going through iriver would be safer.
Joined Jan 10, Messages 1, I don't think the person meant for you to download the firmware updates. The directions they gave are for drivers. This will show you just the drivers. I didn't see anything for the "" series, but there were a few on page 2 for ifp drivers.
I would suggest downloading these, then unzip them, then go through the previously given installation directions. On the link you originally listed, if you click software and drivers, then go to page 2, on the second page there is a listing for "IFP drivers".
I'll admit that it's not listed as vista, but the driver is compatible with XP and is probably your best shot. I don't see any vista drivers listed.
I would download the IFPdrivers. Derek, Ratboy, and Kristina, woo hoo! I am going to leave this thread open until a bit later today when i get a chance to actually change the music, just in case. Total: members: 9, guests: Most of the controls are still on the top and front sides; the hold switch sits next to the rubber-covered USB port on the bottom edge.
One of the jacks is a standard headphone out; the other is a line-in for recording from an external source. The combination of design and button layout makes the T very easy to use. It also sits very comfortably in hand. While the neck strap tab used to double as a weapon, the other end is now the business end. The tapered shape means a highly focused area of contact. This maximizes the effectiveness of the blow in close combat. The shape of the T, and all the iFP portables for that matter, makes it pleasant to use while working at a desk or table.
Basically, you sit it on one side and the LCD and controls face you. It's sort of like a little travel clock. The LCD has plenty to display and it's right in front of you, sitting at a comfortable angle. The microphone hole is also on this side, which means that positioning the device to record a lecture or some such event would be relatively easy.
On the face of the player sits an LCD and a four-way joystick. Depending on the length of the push, you can move from track to track or scan through a track. Additionally, you can give it a quick push and then hold in order to move from folder to folder. You can also push the joystick directly inward, the result of which is context specific. For instance, during normal playback it takes you to the folder directory. However, hold it longer and you're taken to the enormous options menu.
The joystick is stiff and responsive and generally well designed. These again, perform certain tasks depending on which mode of operation and where in the menu system you are.
The buttons are smartly situated and right under your fingertips when you hold the player. They're also very flat, which minimizes accidental depressions. The last of the three sides has a simple hold switch. IRiver was able to speed up the already fast boot time with the T. You owners of older models can also upgrade your firmware and enjoy this benefit. It takes under one second to access your music. This might sound like a minor point, but anyone who's used a pokey device knows how frustrating it can be.
Similarly, you can navigate among and within tracks with the quickness. Now for the fun part. The T is endowed with iRiver's outlandishly detailed menu system. There are even more options than the last version. Again, series owners can add some of this goodness with the new firmware. This should also serve as a template for any product managers reading this review. Remembers stop point when unit is turned off. Resumes play from there or starts at root directory.
Fade In: Songs fade in when player starts up. Instead of using the capable headphone amp from the series, the company installed a more powerful model.
Power output is 12mW per ear and the result is an incredibly loud and incredibly clear portable. The volume slider still goes up to 40, but 30 is more than enough for all but the noisiest environments. Sound quality remains clean throughout almost the entire range. The player also sounds great in terms of straight fidelity.
IRiver still bundles Sennheiser earbuds with the player. Nice touch, but you should still throw them out and buy something decent if you haven't already. I tried the recording features in all three modes voice, tuner, and external source. Recording is easy as pie and, as you saw in the menu breakdown, you have ample control over all parameters. I recorded from my iPod, from a CD player, my own mellifluous voice, and conservative radio.
All recordings came out very well, despite some of the content I chose.
