Steven Smith. No, we have folks from a variety of backgrounds usually, including Java,. James Raden. Would Git be suitable for a lightning talk? I don't think I could be be prepared for Wednesday with only 48 hours until now and then, but I've been using it now for three years, so I might know a thing or two about it. That would be good, because I'm hardly a certified Git trainer.
But I can offer my two cents' worth. I specifically like Git because of 1 the incredible usefulness of cheap branching and merging for feature-based development, 2 it's fast, even on Windows, and 3 the ever-growing universe of tools, websites like Github, and projects using Git.
However, the fact that I find cheap branching so incredibly useful even for one developer shows you how good their branching and merging is. You could even say, if it's so good for one developer, imagine how good it would be for multiple developers!
The talks and topics are simply meant to showcase things you think the group would find interesting. Whether that's high or low level or presentation vs. Michael P. Git for Wednesday - plenty of time to prepare James!
